Art Fairs Calendar Changes Covid-19
From May to November, 2020
The great changes that the art market is facing due to the worldwide alert by the COVID-19 in the recent months, also suppose a digital acceleration as a temporary paradigm in art acquisitions, It’s the transfer of dates of several art fairs celebrated from April to June. These settings trigger an “extra” effort to the galleries that in the following time periods analyzed (30 days, one month) must to concentrate their participation in fairs.
Art Fair Calendar Changes Covid-19 is continuously updated, modifying the different parameters analyzed.
MAY
May has been the first period occupied by the fairs that had their events projected in March and April. In addition to the fairs that traditionally celebrate their fair this month, PAD Paris*, Art Paris*, Salon du Dessin and Drawing Now* come from the end of March and the beginning of April. This block of parallel fairs in Paris has hardly created simultaneities in the fair calendar. Arco Lisboa*, in reference to the 2019 list, only 2 galleries participate in Art Paris and Salon du Dessin*, assuming less than 3% of the total of the fair.

OCTOBER
October has two calendar changes that affect numerous fairs: Dallas Art Fair and TEFAF New York, both in the U.S.A., are located in early October and late, respectively. The usual Frieze Contemporary and Masters exchange with FIAC joins these two fairs and creates a gallery exchange in which some will participate in the four fairs. The change of date of TEFAF has meant the cancellation of TEFAF New York Fall, so, there will be no place for the Fine and Decorative Art from antiquity to the beginning of the Post-War period this year.
